Mälardalen University is a medium-sized regional university. It has two campuses: one in the city of Västerås, located on the north side of Lake Mälaren, and the other one in the city of Eskilstuna, on the south side of the lake, about 40 km apart. Both cities are situated in the very heart of Sweden, about 100 km to the west of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Close interaction and cooperation with the region’s business, industry and public sector makes students from Mälardalen university attractive on the labor market. The campuses contain some of the most modern university buildings in Sweden, centrally situated with well-equipped classrooms, plenty of computers for students, libraries, and laboratories.

Mälardalen University scholarship programme
Every year Mälardalen University offers a limited numbers of scholarships to students applying for a master's programme with us as their first or second choice.
For the academic year of 2014/2015 there were 15 scholarships to apply for.
The scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition fee of the programme as long as you follow the normal study plan (minimum 22.5 credits/semester, minimum 45 credits/academic year). The scholarship does not cover living expenses. If your status from being a fee-paying student to a non-paying student is changed during the study period of the programme you will no longer be granted the scholarship.
Please note, if your application for scholarship is to be considered you must have applied for the programme and submitted supporting documentation within deadlines published on www.universityadmissions.se. In addition the application fee must have been paid in time.
The scholarship is aimed at especially qualified students coming from countries outside of EU/EEA/Switzerland and who are required to pay tuition fees. The scholarship is NOT open for students from the twelve countries with which Sweden has long-term development cooperation (Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia). Students from these countries should instead apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship, www.studyinsweden.se
The last day to apply was January 15, 2014.
Students who are awarded a scholarship will be notified by e-mail in the end of March.
We do not accept late applications.
